Educational Advising

A unique part of the Fulbright Commission is its Advising Center. The center strives to provide accurate, comprehensive, current and unbiased information on educational opportunities in the United States. It belongs to the worldwide educational advising network of the U.S. Department of State called EducationUSA. It does not endorse services provided by any company or organization in the areas of test preparation, admissions, placement, language training or visa procurement.

The Advising Center houses a library of U.S. colleges and universities, information materials on financial assistance for undergraduate and graduate programs, and information on visa issues and health insurance. The Educational Advisor offers assistance in finding the appropriate institution, completing the application process and preparing for departure. In addition the center provides access to internet for educational purposes and to information from other educational centers and agencies in the U.S.

Besides a number of additional materials the Advising Center offers applications and preparatory materials (textbooks, audiocassettes, and CD ROMs) for the U.S. standardized tests (TOEFL, SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, USMLE). The materials can be used at the center or borrowed on a short-term basis free of charge.

Office hours of the Advising Center are from September through June:

Mondays and Fridays are reserved for visitors from outside of Bratislava.
