Fulbright Awards

Fulbright Slovak Student Program

The Fulbright Slovak Student Program offers grants to Slovak students who have completed their Master’s degree, and are interested in Ph.D. research at accredited universities all over the United States. A research stay in the U.S. may take 6 to 9 months. Applications are accepted in all fields of study, except for clinical medicine (direct patient contact).

Fulbright Slovak Scholar Program

Fulbright Slovak Scholar Program offers an opportunity for Slovak scholars - lecturers and researchers, and experienced professionals to engage in full-time advanced research or lecturing (teaching or consultation) at college or university level in the United States, or a combination of both.

Fulbright-National Archives Heritage Science Fellowship

The Fulbright-National Archives Heritage Science Fellowship, a component of the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program, provides an opportunity for a Fulbright visiting scholar to connect with National Archives and Record Administration scientists and experts while conducting research at the National Archives and Record Administration’s Heritage Science Research and Testing Lab in College Park, Maryland.

Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) Program

Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) Program is intended for U.S. higher education institutions to request a visiting lecturer. It offers a Slovak faculty member the opportunity to teach and lecture at accredited U.S. institutions of higher education. A lecture stay may be for one or two semesters.

Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program

Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (FTEA) Program Media Literacy Cohort will bring international secondary-level teachers to the United States for a six-week professional development opportunity to take academic seminars at a host university, observe and share their expertise with U.S. teachers and students, and develop action plans to promote media literacy and critical thinking skills in their home schools, classrooms, and communities.

Fulbright Schuman Program

Fulbright awards scholarships to EU citizens to study, lecture or conduct research in the U.S. on the development of the EU, EU policies, or the U.S.- EU transatlantic agenda for a period between 3 months and one academic year. Grants are open to all academic fields of study, but must relate to U.S.- EU relations or EU affairs.

Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program

The Humphrey Fellowship Program offers accomplished young and mid-career professionals with proven leadership potential 10 months of non-degree graduate-level study, leadership development, and substantive professional collaboration with U.S. counterparts.

Ronald and Eileen Weiser Professional Development Award

Ronald and Eileen Weiser Professional Development Award offers Slovak scholars the opportunity to apply for short-term (4 to 6 weeks) research visits at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. Candidates are invited to propose projects in any field of research or teaching with faculty partners at the University of Michigan.

Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) for Student Leaders

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders (SUSIs) are intensive five-week academic programs whose purpose is to provide groups of undergraduate student leaders with a deeper understanding of the United States while simultaneously enhancing their leadership skills.

Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) for Scholars

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Scholars (SUSIs) are intensive five-to-six-week post-graduate level academic programs whose purpose is to provide a foreign university faculty and other scholars the opportunity to deepen their understanding of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions.

Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) for Secondary Educators

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Secondary Educators (SUSIs) are intensive five-week post-graduate level academic programs whose purpose is to provide foreign secondary school educators and administrators the opportunity to deepen their understanding of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions.
